Ordering a New Circulation Computer

The responsibility for ordering the new computer lies strictly with the schools. ERS will NOT purchase the computers for you. However, if you do plan on purchasing a new computer, you MUST notify Library Automation via the ERS Helpdesk before doing so!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you are using an older Metrologic scanner, it will have a round PS/2 connector. The newer Dell computers do not have a port for these types of connectors. You must purchase a "Belkin PS/2-USB" splitter adapter in order to use your older scanner. It has been tested and approved by Library Automation and is available at most computer or electronic parts stores. Contact the ERS Helpdesk or call 720.423.8130 for more information.

To order a new circulation computer, follow this procedure:

  1. Click the following link to begin: Search for Computer Pricing Information
  2. You can use any of the current standard DELL desktop computers listed on the site. The preference is up to you.
  3. Next, you or the person responsible for ordering the computer, will need to generate an electronic quote from Dell to facilitate ordering the machine. Click below to go to Dell's website: Dell Premier Website
  4. Once there, you'll need to create a personal profile in order to generate the quote. There are instructions for doing so are on the Dell Premier website.
  5. After you've created the quote, you can then order the PC using SFG.
  6. When the computer has been delivered, notify the ERS Helpdesk so that we can schedule a time with you to setup the new PC and install the library system applications. Do NOT contact DoTS for this purpose.
