Withdrawing Items

How do I withdraw items from my collection?

  • This can be easily done in Millennium/Via. Refer to the documentation in the Library Manual: Withdrawing Items

When are "withdrawn" items deleted from LION?

  • Withdrawn items are deleted from the database during the following times:
    • During the Christmas break
    • In February prior to the Titlewise updates
    • At the end of a scheduled library inventory
    • At the end of the current school year

Can I delete these items myself from the database?

  • No, withdrawing items is the only method available to librarians for removing items from their collections. Deletions can only be done by ERS/Technical Support.

Are withdrawn items included in my Titlewise reports?

  • No, all withdrawn items are excluded from the Titlewise reports.

Should I withdraw long overdue or lost items?

  • No. These items are processed as part of the regular database cleanup procedures done by ERS, and as part of the inventory process.

Can I get a report of items I've deleted from my collection?

  • Yes, just submit an e-mail request to the ERS Helpdesk and ask for the L1010-Withdrawn Items report.

I've withdrawn an item by accident and it has been deleted. Can I add it back to my collection?
